House Republicans Vote To Slash Services Families Rely On

Chicago – Fair Share America Executive Director Kristen Crowell released the following statement on the House of Representatives' budget resolution vote.
“House Republicans just voted to take health care, food security, and other resources for local communities away from millions of their constituents in order to pay for tax cuts for the rich. We won’t let this go unanswered and neither will the American public.”

Earlier today, people gathered at the U.S. Capitol to share how cuts to Medicaid threaten their health and their families’ health. VIEW THE VIDEO.
Democratic governors have warned that people will lose access to critical health services under the House budget proposal.
New polling from Families Over Billionaires and Hart Research shows that “putting vital programs on the chopping block to pay for tax cuts for wealthy individuals and large corporations is unacceptable to large majorities of voters.”
In the last week alone, thousands of constituents showed up at their representatives’ offices to urge Members of Congress to protect funding for Medicaid, SNAP, and other services that millions of Americans - and our state economies - depend on:
